AlloDerm Select 4x4 Fenestrated Thin is a regenerative tissue matrix designed for the repair or replacement of damaged or inadequate integumental tissue. This acellular dermal matrix (ADM) is primarily used in post-mastectomy breast reconstruction procedures, where homologous use is appropriate. It is especially beneficial for managing skin defects resulting from tissue harvesting during autologous reconstruction.

The matrix supports the submuscular pocket, aids in implant positioning, and reduces the risk of implant extrusion. AlloDerm Select is intended for single-patient use and is not suitable for veterinary applications or as a dural substitute.This product undergoes stringent donor screening, laboratory testing, and tissue processing to minimize the risk of disease transmission.

The matrix features a distinct basement membrane (upper) and dermal surface (lower) to optimize vascular integration. The dermal side should face the most vascular tissue during implantation. The graft requires hydration in sterile saline or lactated Ringer's solution before use. Strict aseptic technique is necessary to ensure optimal outcomes, including removal of any visible hair before implantation.

Potential adverse events associated with AlloDerm Select implantation include wound infections, seroma, dehiscence, immune responses, and graft failure. Clinical circumstances involving contamination or infection require appropriate anti-infective measures.
